If someone locks a topic, can we PLEASE, PLEASE just DELETE them? There are more locked topics than active ones Shocked

I've been trying to make this point to you since 2006 =(

I like looking at the locked things.
I don't really want them to be removed...
And who are you?

I've been asked NOT to delete the locked topics, because people still read them.

If people would just stop posting topics they know will get locked (ex... "Open Discussion needs to be reopened!" or "I'm leaving!"), we wouldn't have so many!

Just pointing this out again, even though I think someone already proposed this idea, wouldn't it be better if we made an archive? Then we could move all the locked topics there so that it doesn't clutter other forums.

I like that idea. But if we have an archive, can it also be viewable to regular members? Some people might like to look back at some of the old things that were locked. I know I would.

That's a good idea, if it would work. Some people don't know when they post topics that will get locked or not.

And yes, the archive could be visible to other users. But, of course, they wouldn't be able to post in the locked topics, and I think you're able to make the whole Archive locked so that no one can create new topics except for the moderators and administrators.

I think the locked things should stay. It could be kind of like an example of "what not to post" for new members.

Hmm, an archive might be a good idea. But there are so many similar locke topics that it might not be so good.

Than just delete the related topics and only keep one of the same subject.

(Having a Twilight movie flashback now because of Twilight's name))

I wish there were owls in Twilight so we could talk about it here! I just saw it Saturday morning, and I'm ready for round 2!
