what new categories and forums would you like to see?

there has been a suggestion of a Silverwing forum, but it seems to be mainly about bats - has anyone read the Silverwing trilogy?

You should ask High Tyto Soren. She knows something about it.

The Silverwing Tri is about a "war" like thing between a few select animals (Owls, Bats, Rats etc)

The owls don't appear until the second book.

All the animals are trying to be the "top" king of all animals. There's fights between both the owls and bats.

That's almost basicly it.

I've also heard that there is a 30 minute cartoon of Silverwing on Disney Channel.

Surprised I love the Silvering trilogy! It's awesome. In the first book, from (main character) Shade's point of view, the owls are evil creatures. But in the second book, he makes friends with Orestes (I think that's how you spell it), an owl that had been stuck in a human building as Shade and some other Silverwing bats. The owls are important characters in the series and are more involved in the second book, Sunwing, then in the first book, Silverwing, or the third book, Firewing.

I don't know of any other series based around owls, and I'm an avid children's literature reader! I know that there are other books with owls, but not series with owls as involved as say GoG or Harry Potter.

You might consider choosing a book and leading discussion on it... for example, if everyone wanted to go through the GoG series, we could start with book 1 and discuss it on the forum, have assigned chapters, etc. Like literature circles, I guess.

Ha ha... guess what I do for a living? Elementary teacher. Sorry. I love reading, and the thought of discussing literature with others excites me, especially if we're all reading the same thing.

Well, since this is an Owl Fantasy Forum, and there normally should be owls as characters in the books, I'm afraid the Warriors idea may not be an option (don't get me wrong, I'm obsessed with the series).
